The Supreme Court handed down its judgment today in the time charter case of ENE Kos 1 Limited v Petroleo Brasileiro SA (the "KOS"). The dispute concerns an owner's right to remuneration in the period after he has withdrawn his vessel from the service of his time charterer for the non-payment of hire. The International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea in Hamburg (a Tribunal composed of 21 judges and established under the UN Law of the Sea Convention) gave judgment on 14 March 2012 in a maritime boundary dispute between the Republic of Bangladesh and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.  Sir Michael Wood was one of Myanmar's Counsel.
