Born in 1951, Richard was called to the Bar as a member of Lincoln's Inn in 1975, and has been in practice at 20 Essex Street (formerly 3 Essex Court) since 1976. He has appeared as counsel before the High Court and Court of Appeal, and before arbitral tribunals. He has also accepted appointments as arbitrator in a variety of commercial disputes.Richard Wood was an Examiner of the Court 1988-97, and continues to accept appointments to sit as Examiner.

Hibernia Foods PLC v McAuslin and ors. [1998] 1 Lloyd's Rep. 310: insurance of export cargo incorporating Institute Frozen Meat Clauses; cover for export refund under E.C. regulations for rejected cargo; perils insured against; duration of cover.
