David Johnson became a full time arbitrator in 1998, following over 35 years' practice at the Bar, specialising in a wide range of commercial matters involving extensive trial work in both English and Far Eastern courts, and in arbitrations here and on the Continent. These included insurance (marine and non-marine), several of the 'Lloyd's cases', reinsurance, banking, professional indemnity/negligence, oil industry disputes, all aspects of carriage of goods by sea, charterparty disputes, international sale of goods (especially commodity disputes), arbitration law and practice disputes and conflicts of laws. A former Recorder and Deputy High Court Judge, his appointments include both ICC and party appointments.
