Arbitrators and Mediators

Members of 20 Essex Street include members whose sole or primary practice as a Member of Chambers is as an arbitrator or mediator, and members whose primary practice is as barristers but who also accept appointments as arbitrator or mediator.Each member of chambers is a self-employed and independent practitioner, and it is therefore not uncommon for a member to be involved in a matter where another member has been instructed or appointed by another party.

Many members are on the panels of the leading arbitral institutions [Link to list of institutions above]. Members are located in Europe, North America, South America, Australia and Asia. They participate in arbitrations all over the world, concerning commercial, international investment and public international law disputes.

Some members are accredited as mediators by the Centre for EffectiveDispute Resolution (CEDR).Members have written or edited leading textbooks.
