In addition to appearing on behalf of clients in arbitral proceedings, all senior members and most junior members of 20 Essex Street accept appointment as arbitrators under the auspices of such bodies as the ICC, LCIA, LMAA, ICSID or on an ad hoc basis whether in London or abroad.

An increasing number of mediations have also been conducted through 20 Essex Street with members acting as mediator or counsel.

Arbitrator members, as listed to the right include a former Law Lord , Court of Appeal Lord Justices, distinguished former members of chambers and former and existing senior partners based in London, Paris, Sydney, Toronto and Washington who accept appointments.

Arbitrators from 20 Essex Street have sat in Hong Kong, Bermuda, Singapore, Paris, Stockholm, Zurich, Houston and Washington. The arbitrator members include the UK representative to the ICC, the former Vice President to the LCIA, and a co-founder and the overseas chairman of CEDR in addition we have the former president of the World Bank Administrative Tribunal and a current panel member of the WTO.

We also have members on the panel of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, the Panel of Arbitrators of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes and the International Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne.

We have facilities to accommodate hearings in matters where a member of 20 Essex Street is presiding or acting.
